Proposal B

Your assumption, applied to each adjusted known total. No default reserve is recommended. Do not duplicate an allowance already included in the bid.

Formula: base bid + known required omissions = adjusted known scope. Reserve = adjusted known scope × your percentage.

This compares entered amounts only. It does not establish technical equivalence, a contractor quote, hidden-damage cost or an association assessment.

Before the lower total influences your decision

Confirm the product, quantities, removal, wall repair process, flashings, trim, access, protection and approvals are comparable. A missing detail cannot be repaired by arithmetic. Resolve scope gaps and record the source of each adjustment.

How the hypothetical example works

Proposal A: $180,000 base + $20,000 known omissions = $200,000. Proposal B: $195,000 base + $0 known omissions = $195,000. B is $5,000 lower for that assumed known scope. The example loads a 0% reserve; it is not a local price benchmark or suggested budget.
